Grow Your Own Food with Aquaponics
January 21 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
$145
Growing plants without using soil and growing fish at the same time..this is called aquaponics.
Aquaponics” combines growing plants in water (hydroponics) with fish farming (aquaculture). It is an interplay process that has its roots in Asian agricultural practices dating back thousands of years. When used properly, aquaponics can increase local food production and make communities more resilient – all without causing pollution or using scarce resources, such as oil.
In a few square meters you can grow a large bundle of vegetables by keeping fish whose fish droppings and urine are used as fertilizer. No soil is needed. The plants do not shoot roots in the ground but in substrate material and as they grow into the air the water is purified and the water flows back to the fish. Learn to build an aquaponics system and start growing vegetables, herbs, fruits and fish.
