Have a look at the eco home designs that are available for purchase. To make these Eco Units self-sufficient the following can be added (additional costs): 

• Wind turbines (e.g. roof), and or solar and water boiler system.
• “Grey / Black” water recycle system.
• Waste Management and Biogas system.
• “Green roof”  is a roof that is covered in plants, which reduces storm water run-off and lowers cooling costs.
• Exterior wall panelling.
